IT. HAS. BEGUN!

So of course I'm using the widgets to keep track of where I am and how much further I have to go. Anyone else?

NaNoWriMo!

I joined the NaNoWriMo site a few years ago, planning on writing my first novel.

Didn't get very far.

So I'm trying again this year, with a few improvements, such as people to back me up, a better plan, more free time, ect... No crazy sports or jobs to get in the way! So we're going to see how this goes. I'm encouraging my friends to join too, so we can all back each other up on this.

What about you? are you doing NaNoWriMo?

So.

After a couple months (okay, all summer) of being "dead" when it comes to my webcomic, I am trying to revive myself with a new start; College! I move in tomorrow, then have a whole WEEK of orientation until monday.  During this, I plan to get my comic started and going again. (I could have sworn I updated recently...)

Part of my absence was caused by the destruction of my set, a three-week mini-college for credits (yay!) and just plain lazyness.  I'd make a new one right now, but everythings buried at the bottom of my "packed" pile.  So some time in the next week, we'll be up and running again. Once I find my camera...

I'm also planning something new, but we'll see where it goes...

Banners and profiles

I've been thinking about making a banner for my webcomic. Sadly, I have had poor experience making my own, And I have no idea what to put in as a graphic anyway. So It's sitting in my thinking pile..

In other news, I've been working on character profiles! The first six are done. I just need to scan and edit them. Yes, I said scan. The profiles were done in a slightly different style, but you'll just have to wait and see what I'm up to!

The main problem, of course, is getting my scanner to work...

Creative Highlight #1

One of my friend's children made an awesome #12 Grimmauld Place out of Lego bricks. It's not color coordinated or exactly like the movie, but the way it's assembled is incredible. I got the opportunity to see it in person and my brain was divided as such;

"Wow, that's incredible!"

"Hm... I wonder how he built it to slide like that...

"Wish I'd thought of that..."

It's not something LEGO would make a set of, but it's pretty impressive nonetheless. (He even as a little Buckbeak for it, even though it's not shown in the video.)

Lighting woes

I've been using a table lamp to light my set for production. Recently, though, All of my pictures are taking on a reddish hue, unless I adjust the lamp JUST RIGHT. I don't know if it's my light bulb or the colors on the set, but I'm fiddling around with it until I can figure out how to take pictures and not need extensive post-production adjustments. (AKA fixing color balance.) I've been playing with the curtains and my room light, and I'm working on re-constructing the set into one that doesn't need such tight shots. (or at least walls...)

For now, however, I'm off to Kentucky!

Long weeks...

I've been running myself ragged preparing for Girl's State, Young Life camp, and getting the comic done in between. I think I finished pretty well... except for accidentally burning myself with the iron. (only a little.)

On the bright side, all of the comics for the next TWO WEEKS are done. So that's one less thing I have to worry about.

See you all later!

Blah-de-blah

My first webcomic! After much (and I mean MUCH) Trial and error, I have done it. Now that I know how to do it, my comic will languish until I come back from my vacation next week. Figures. But I was far too excited to wait...

So Technologically Incompetent is basically my characters performing in plays and getting confused by technology. (Trust me, figuring out coding will factor into this...)

I'm going to have so much fun...

(and no, Robina Goodfellow Isn't my real name. But I'm not about to use my real one.)
